I have been a coach for over 30 years. I apply a strengths-based, collaborative approach to support clients to align their unique set of strengths and values to live a meaningful life. My clients engage in transformational learning experiences through personal reflection, goal setting, and self-discovery. I coach new leaders, high performers, and executives, I coach men and women and people who do not identify as either. I have developed leaders in the oil and gas industry, led teams in the immigration sector, and created programming and training for teachers, principals, and officers in the police service. I currently coach a wide range of leaders, entrepreneurs, and individual contributors. My contracting services have offered me experience with clients in companies including Meta, Google, American Express, Salesforce, and many others.
My career journey started as a Special Education teacher. As a young mother, I chose a career that would allow me to learn about raising well-adjusted children and provide a launchpad for a career beyond teaching. Even at that time, I aspired to be a business owner but, coming up against the role expectations of the times, I couldn't see a clear path towards my goal. In retrospect, I realize that although our resumes are presented as chronological, the path involves a lot of switchbacks that finally get you up the mountain!
My love of learning and curiosity about human development drew me to the formal study of leadership. I already understood how parenting and leadership can be great analogies for each other, but I had yet to demonstrate that to the world. My passion for developing people served me well as I became a System Specialist in public education, led a multi-sector partnership initiative with the police service, and then moved into the private sector to support talent management in the oil and gas industry. My final position was a leadership role in a non profit organization in the immigration sector during the Syrian refugee influx to Canada. By the time I left full time employment, I had experienced leadership at multiple levels within public, government, NGOs, and private sectors.
Today I have the honour of travelling alongside others as they find their own path up the mountain! I have realized my dream of owning a business and have found satisfaction in the financial independence and meaningful work that allows me to live an authentic and purposeful life. It was a journey for me and today, I have the joy of witnessing and supporting the process of others in creating a life well-lived: one of meaning and purpose, passion and health, with the comfort of financial freedom! What is your vision of success? How will you manifest it? I'd love to witness your journey!
